The Great Story Workshop started with a phone call from a friend who is a dean at a business school.
She had a problem. Her colleagues (deans, department heads, and development professionals) were great at their jobs but struggled to motivate and connect with their teams. She asked if I could help.
So I traveled to her university and ran workshops where I taught leaders how to use storytelling to transform everyday communications. The response was immediate. Leaders who'd felt stuck suddenly had a way to build trust and connect. They learned how to tap into the emotions of their teams so they could share a story that showed they understood their challenges.
That's when I knew this needed to be more than a one-time favor.

Since then, I've worked with senior leaders at places like Penn State, Purdue, Smith College, and Texas Tech. I’ve since expanded to small businesses and women's conferences.
In each workshop, I teach leaders how to find personal stories and use them to turn presentations into messages that inspire. Through hands-on practice and one-on-one coaching, they discover that the most powerful leadership tool is a well-told story that helps people see themselves in the mission.
What started as helping one friend has become my life's work. I love showing leaders that great communication isn't about having all the answers. Rather, it’s about sharing human moments that teams can connect with.

The Great Story Workshop is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstance and ability.
We aim to adhere as closely as possible to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0, Level AA), published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).These guidelines explain how to make Web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web more user friendly to everyone. Whilst I strive to adhere to the guidelines and standards for accessibility, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website and we are currently working to achieve this. Be aware that due to the dynamic nature of the website, minor issues may occasionally occur as it is updated regularly. We are continually seeking out solutions that will bring all areas of the site up to the same level of overall web accessibility. If you have any comments and or suggestions relating to improving the accessibility of our site, please don't hesitate to contact me via the "Let's Chat" section. Your feedback will help us make improvements.
